Time for another Guest Spotlight. Lucky for us, Stephanie from My Li'l Pumpkin Patch is going to show us how to make an adorable gift card holder our of scrap paper! Here she is.
Hey all you The Sasse Life readers! My name is Stephanie and I blog at My Li'l Pumpkin Patch. I am thrilled to be blog-swapping with Kim today!
I am a wife and a mother (to a sweet two-year old). I enjoy creating things for my home, family, and others. Here are a few of my favorite projects so far:
When I'm not crafting, I enjoy spending time with my family. Some of our favorite things to do are camping, four-wheeling, and watching Netflix (recent fav: American Pickers).
Come visit me at my blog, My Li'l Pumpkin Patch to see my crafts, DIY projects, sewing, scrapbooking, card making, and tutorials! If you have a big craft stash like me, you may also be interested in joining my new "Stache Party." It is a party dedicated to depleting your stash, (AKA making room for more).
Today I am going to share with you a fun tutorial of this simple and fun gift card holder (crafted from MY stash):
Here is a list of what you will need:
12x12 Scrapbook paper
Ribbon and Other Embellishments
First, you will cut the outer card piece. It needs to be 12" by 5 3/8."
The inner piece needs to be 11 5/8" by 5 1/8."
You can purchase small envelopes, but I cut mine out with my Silhouette. (It is the "library pocket" and it came with my Silhouette.)
Next, cut a 2x4" piece of paper. This will be the part you can write a nice little message on.
I decided to make a clasp closure envelope, so after gluing the envelope, I punched a couple of small holes in the envelope. Then, I added some rhinestone brads.
Thread some floss through the hole in the flap before inserting the brad and wrap the end around the closed brad to secure it in place.
Once this is complete, you can glue everything together. Here is how mine turned out:
I added a chipboard sticker to the front. You can embellish it however you would like! I thought it would be cute to make a flower out of felt too.
I stitched on the front with my sewing machine to add some fun texture.
Thanks again Kim for having me!
The holidays are right around the corner, so you better start making your gift card holders now! Make sure to stop by My Li'l Pumpkin Patch and say hi! Thanks, Stephanie, for sharing this with us!
Hope everyone is having a great day :)
