Guest Blogger: The Letter 4

Super excited to have one of my bloggy BFF's to come by.   Here is Jamie from The Letter 4!

I'm so happy to be gracing the pages of my dear friend Kim's blog today! Kim is such an inspiring person and I am so happy to call her my friend :) My name is Jamie and I blog over at The Letter 4. We blog about projects, recipes, mommy stuff, and most recently inspiring people and their stories.

I started our blog with my sisters about a year ago. For me it was going to be a nice hobby, a distraction, something to do. It was at a time in my life where I was feeling low. I needed a distraction. That was the goal. Nothing huge. It wasn't long till we started getting good feedback and the comments and the traffic made me feel special. I would get those comments on my projects and I wouldn't feel low anymore. I started noticing though that although the blog made me happy it wasn't a lasting happiness. I realized that something was missing in my life. A couple of months later and my sisters and I decided to start raising money for a cause to help someone in need. I thought it was a nice idea, I didn't have my whole heart in it though. How would I be able to help someone if I wasn't even 100% perfect myself? We started into it and I realized...this work, helping people, was making me happy. A lasting happiness that I had forgotten about because I had become selfish. There was so much work put into starting of our shop. Six months later and I had heard so many amazing inspiring stories and met so many inspiring people that had inspired me to stop thinking about myself. I truly believe that I have already gained so much from this project. I have had the privilege to meet people like Kim who also have a same goal to try to make a difference. And maybe the only difference that I will make in this world is a difference in me, but I am so grateful for this work that reminds me to forget myself. Cause that's truly the only way to be happy.
