Excited to introduce you to our last but never least blogger, Jenna from The Life of the Wife. You need to follow her for all your makeup tutorials & questions! You won't regret it!
Hello people! I'm beyond excited that Kim asked me to be here today (she's seriously one of the SWEETEST people I've met in bloggy land)! I'm Jenna, and I am the writer, owner & sarcasm director over at The Life of the Wife. I like to write about the not-so-ordinary, the funny, the crazy, and then every so often, I like to write about the NORMAL things that happen in my life.
I used to be a makeup artist (in my previous life before baby), and I continue to SOAK UP everything beauty-related. I started doing these Beauty Q&A posts, and my readers seem to love them, so I thought I'd share something along those lines with all of YOU wonderful people.
I think every girl/woman/person who has any normal feelings in their body gets anxious when you know you have to take pictures. Being a blogger has really changed that for me.
I think I've gotten pretty used to taking pictures of myself as of lately.
Does that mean it makes me any less ANXIOUS? Absolutely not.
But I can assure you, these tips WILL make you feel better and LOOK BETTER in pictures.
And who doesn't want one less thing to worry about, right?

Ok..enough chatter..here we go! :)
1-LOAD UP ON BLUSH
Ok, so normally, I would never say that. But for pictures -- YES! If you normally wear one swipe of blush, add another layer (at least). Start light, and add more as you go. The light when taking pictures automatically washes you out--so LOAD UP!
2-LIPSTICK (and a hint of gloss)
Don't forget the lipstick! Normally, I am a gloss/tinted balm girl, but on picture days, you better believe I slap on some lipstick. Go one to two shades DARKER than your NATURAL lipstick (ie if your lips are pinky-mauve naturally, go with a darker pinky-mauve color not ORANGE).
Lipstick is your friend...it wants to gives your face some contrast in pictures.
3-WHITEN YOUR EYES
You can use eyedrops right before pictures, to make sure there aren't any annoying bloodshot eyes. Makeup-wise, you can line the inner rim of your eyes with a soft white pencil. It will open your eyes and make them look brighter
4-MATTE. MATTE. MATTE.
Usually, I am a fan of a little SHIMMER. Not in pictures. Avoid anything that is going to reflect light off of your face. If there is a camera flash, the shimmer will make you look oily and greasy.
No bueno. Apply a light brush of sheer powder or use blotting papers right before your photog starts snapping away!
5-APPLY YOUR MAKEUP IN NATURAL LIGHT!
I cannot stress this enough. Find a window. Go to it. Bring a mirror. Start applying. You'll thank me, I promise. You will see all the imperfections, yes..but that is what makeup is for in this case. If you apply your makeup under florescent bathroom lights, you will go outside and realize that you didn't look as good as you though you did (totally never happened to me ;)
That's all kiddos. I hope you enjoyed my little tips!
Happy Makeup-ing!
